Bay Area high schools are among the most highly rated schools across all area levels of rankings – local, state and nationwide.
The Niche Public High School Ranking system bases their rankings on key academic statistics as well as the opinions of the students and parents. A high ranking means that the parents and their high-achieving kids are extremely happy with the level of academic experience the school offers its students. The California Performance Index (API) ranking system is based on the scores of a variety of tests taken by the students in each school. Due to the introduction of the California Core Academics program and to allow time for the state’s education department to determine the required testing adjustments, the California API ranking has been suspended for 2014 and 2015 and maybe forever. However, we do have the 2013 API Growth report that was updated in May 2014. The State Rank is determined by a school’s API Score in comparison to other schools with a similar grade-range in California. The list below shows how our local schools were ranked, as well as their API scores in 2013.
